  • Well, yeah what an incredible weekend for me to say the least. This weekend I went on a church retreat that was part of a christian ministry called ''Alpha'' which is part of my church. The retreat started by me taking a van ride with several other people who were going on the retreat. The ride was about 45 minutes on the road then once we got into the camp site which was called Camp Sumatanga which was ever so beautiful we all checked into our rooms and met our roommates of Alpha then we all played some fun group games then watch a video outside of the Alpha Preacher named Nicky Gumbal. Everybody then broke into their groups and got into group discussion with about 10 question or so !!

There was also a bond fire and we roasted smores and had great worship and fellowship. I actually heard some great stories from just wonderful christians people and that was one thing that I gained out of the retreat was the fellowship and quiet time with the lord. The thing we did where the Lord really I mean really spoke to my heart is after the sermon session lead by the head pastor of my church, the coordinator of Alpha named Laura put down tables with different things to meditate on during an hour of quiet time with God. The stations that were set up were the visual table(where you could view christian images of Gods creation), the writing table(where you could write anything to God or about God or just a simple prayer to God) !! What I really love about this particular part of the retreat was that I really got a good mixed of things to do with God and it(the retreat) was really to be honest above anything else was the greatest experience and time to just meditate and focus on the wonderful creator and master over everything whos love is unfailing.

Just a couple of verses to keep connected in my mind comes out of Romans 8:18- ''I am convinced that our struggles doesn't even need to compare to the glory that he will give to us someday.'' I'll pray that I will paste this verse to my heart !!

  • I got into an interesting conversation over the phone moments ago and at the end of the phone call with my friend I ended the call by saying a phrase that my friend told me that the Lutherans say in their religion and the phrase is ''May God be with you'' and then the person that you tell that to says ''and he with you'' and I thought to myself that we as christians hardly if ever say a phrase like that so it was indeed an interesting conversation. Other things about my day, I thought about going to run with a big group of other runners outside this store called ''The Trek Shack'' where runners meet every wednesday at around 5:15p.m.however I decided to stay home because I did not have any running shoes so I am thinking about making a run by walmart this upcoming weekend or some time to purchase some running shoes. I haven't been that active this past summer with some sort of exercise so hopefully this running ordeal will keep me up to date with exercising !!

  • One aspect of the jewish belief that weirdly enough disturbs me for some odd reason is that Jewish people don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Sometimes I actually find myself lately being wrapped up in understanding why this is believed by jewish people. One of the old churches that I used to attend in Normal,IL, my dad used to work up in the balcony during the church service and I remember there was another guy that used to work with my dad and he was jewish and wandered why he went to a baptist church when he was jewish and I actually wanted to ask this jewish guy what his intentions were for coming to my church at that time because I think the baptist church believes that jesus is the Son of God. This question of this part of the jewish belief has befriended and got my mind thinking alot recently.

  • Well, I am back at it again posting on xanga by the way please let me know if any of you xanga users like my new background look on my xanga page cause I really like it and just want the opinion of others to see if they like it. Anyhow, to get going on my update, I am excited that tomorrow is Halloween and that the clocks go back an hour tomorrow night. Speaking of Halloween I did have an interesting encounter tonight when I had pizza over at this pizza resturant called Dave's and the waitress that turned out to be our server there told me and my mom who was there with me that she is planning on going to a halloween block party tomorrow night somewhere in Birmingham,AL and she actually gave out her thought and told me as she was taking our order that she thinks that I should dress up and go with a friend so I put two and two together and couldn't decide at the moment if I should make a run to the halloween store for a costume idea or if I should go with a costume that I formerly purchase at a party city in Bloomington which is a priest costume that is all black and it comes with a plastic cross necklace to wear around your neck so anyway tell me if this idea sounds like a great halloween/costume combination wearing my priest costume and using black face paint to paint a beard on my face so I did however think about doing that.

Bible verse for the day: Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you , Declares the lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a good future.
