I just read recently some interesting facts about Bloomington-Normal according to Bill Flick from the Pantagraph. In the 1970's there were two stores in B-N one store being real intriguing to go to which is where the schnucks grocery store is today on Veterans Parkway and the store in fact was called ''Zaires'' which I heard from somebody one of the things they sold there was video game equipment. Zaires was probably a pretty decent size store near the size of Walmart but probably not quite that big. The other store I didn't know about not mention didn't even know there was even one of these stores in Bloomington ever was a A&P Company Grocery store which was located on the north side of Eastland Mall. So I thought I would share some interesting Bloomington-Normal Facts for ya here and in fact the funny thing about mentioning Bill Flick on here was that I was traveling on a bus down Washington St. by the Pantagraph Building and actually heard this guy say on the back of the bus ''Hey there's Bill Flick walking right there'' !!! So I was amused to see em like I did.
